ABOUT
Finding a Deeper Meaning In Your Life
Born to a French mother and Indian father, I went to primary school in Hong Kong, high school in Paris, and university in Montreal. This blend of cultures and experiences, coupled with an intellectual curiosity that spanned numerous subjects, led me to a career in Finance. I spent 12 years in trading, liability management, and investment advisory in London and Hong Kong before going back to university to complete a research master’s in Psychology.
The interactions and experiences I had during this time gave rise to a number of theories about how and why people experience and “do” life so differently – a psychology degree provided me with the opportunity to assess the validity of these theories through a more rigorous academic approach.
But I discovered something even more valuable and got a lot more than theories and academic rigour. I realised that I am not interested in just mitigating people’s pain from the past. What I care about is:
1. Helping people discover what they want in life
2. Making them realise that it is possible and
3. Giving them the resources to achieve it
In short, coaching people towards a life they want to live.
My Ethos:
-
You do not need to relive negative emotional experiences to move forward, you just need to recognise and understand in which way they’ve made you stumble in the past.
-
Self-compassion and self-pity are not the same: Self-pity is feeling sorry for yourself, self-compassion is wanting to pick yourself up.
-
Honesty without judgment: You do not need to lie to yourself about your limitations if you stop judging yourself for having them.
-
Being kind to yourself is not the same as going easy on yourself: You should give yourself a break sometimes, but you should not avoid challenges.
